Formerly known as... Got links?
A good friend suggested that my blog would be more interesting and fun if I added some links. So this will be my first try… bear with me.
I most likely will not put in links for commercial ventures, so you won’t read about what a great lunch I had at McDonald’s the other day.
But you might read about some of my favorite non-profit groups, associations and clubs like the Bicycle Alliance of Washington, BikeWorks, Cascade Bicycle Club, Cyclists of Greater Seattle, Seattle Bike Port, Adventure Cycling, Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, and the Trans-Canada Trail.
Blogs I might blab about could be Jerry’s Crazy Guy on a Bike, Kevin’s Seattle to Scottsbluff, Kent’s Bike Blog, and Kat and Willie’s Yellow Tent Adventures.
In food-related blogs and websites (Mm-m-m… dreaming about these while riding through Midwest beef country) I might mention Nettletown, Castagna, The Corson Building, and DuVin. What’s that? You say you want a Mug Revolution? Our friend Owen makes the most lovely hand built coffee/tea/cocoa mugs in Bend, Oregon. And, yes, you guessed it, he’s also a cyclist!
OH! Not to forget, one of my favorite pastimes when not riding a bike: LAWN BOWLING! For several years I’ve enjoyed this tricky sport and a group of fabulous women, the Bowl Busters league of the Jefferson Park Lawn Bowling Club on Beacon Hill in Seattle.
When other sports and work doesn’t get in the way, I am out digging in the dirt, encouraged by Seattle Tilth, which I have to say has the BEST Edible Plant Sale every year for our urban vegetable garden.
OK, forget what I said about no commercial links. This one is important: Free Range Cycles, in the Fremont neighborhood, Seattle. Our dear friend Kathleen and her flock of amazing mechanics, has kept me in functioning 2-wheeled mobility, even when I’ve managed to muck up a bike or two or three. Voted (by me) Best Bike Shop in Seattle!
Stay tuned… more to come!
