Not much more to say about Jackson, Montana, except that the teensy log cabins were nice and warm, the bed very sleepable, and lots of friends around to visit with: The Gehring family from Holland, Dennis from Portland, Or., and three or four other guys we’ve been seeing from time to time on the road. No Fred and Barb yet, as they are still a day or two behind us. Lots of interesting taxidermy to gaze at in the lobby, as well as the Volkswagen-sized TV screen with recaps of The Tour. (I had not heard about the Lance crashes and his withdrawal… Guess I’ve been out of touch with current events.)
More from Missoula in the next couple of days… I took my Soma into a bike shop and bought a new computer (the old one was kaputsky) and they’ve installed it. So tomorrow I’ll walk over and pick it up, bring it back to the motel and do a thorough cleaning and maintenance. I also asked them to check my chain and chainrings for wear, and all looks good to go for the final 1,200 miles.
